She still cries after weeks of sleep training – help!
That can be incredibly frustrating! If that is happening, it’s good to check in on a few things. First, be sure that you are being as consistent as possible. Behavior change and intervention is tough, and we know that things can get worse before they get better. That said, make sure you have stuck with your plan consistently. Next, pay attention to the order of the routine. Make sure that any feeding occurs at the beginning of the routine or before the routine starts outside of the bedroom, and that the rest of the routine moves toward the bedroom and ends by putting your baby down drowsy but awake wherever you would like her to sleep overnight.
Finally, if you think there is something physically bothering her that might be disrupting her sleep, be sure to check with her health care provider.
