My baby now cries at bedtime. What should I do?
There are a number of things that can cause a baby to cry at bedtime. One of them is simply being tired and working on learning to fall asleep. Know, too, that there are also a number of medical reasons that may be related to your baby crying at bedtime. One example is an ear infection, which can cause pain when a baby is lying flat. Another is teething – growth hormone is actually released when a baby falls asleep. Developmentally, we also know that sleep changes over time. Your excellent sleeper might develop sleep problems as she grows. It is important, though, that you make sure that there are no medical or health-related reasons that your little one is upset at bedtime. Be sure to consult with your pediatrician if you have concerns.
