It’s inevitable that you will need to get up and down to attend to your new baby overnight. Most babies will feed throughout the night, some to 6 months of age. So you will feel tired and for some moms (maybe 1 in 7 or so), you may feel quite down and anxious too. If these feelings persist, you may have postnatal depression so make sure you talk to a health professional about this and seek his or her help. However, for many moms, feeling tired is where it ends. Try to get as much sleep as you can. Rest when your baby naps and make sure you go to bed soon after they go to sleep, as this is when you (and your baby) will usually have the longest and most refreshing period of sleep.
