How much should my baby nap?

Babies usually nap on one of two types of schedules. Some babies nap in the mid-morning beginning at about 9:00 or 9:30 a.m. and in the mid-afternoon beginning at about 2:00 or 2:30 p.m. Other babies continue to take several (3 to 4) 30 to 45 minute naps throughout the day, each beginning about 2 hours after they last woke. Both schedules are totally normal!
