How do I get her to sleep later in the morning?
Sometimes children wake up very early in the morning. The first thing to think about is whether or not she has gotten enough sleep. If she hasn’t gotten enough sleep overnight, think about other factors that might be waking her up too early in the morning. For instance, is there noise or light early in the morning that could be waking her up? Or, is she missing something that she had at bedtime when she fell asleep (such as a blanket, pacifier, or song) that makes it hard for her to get back to sleep in those early morning hours? If that is the case, working on helping her fall asleep on her own at bedtime might help a great deal. You can also think about using a good morning light to help teach them when to get up in the morning.About Dr. Sonia Rubens
