How can I help my preschooler fall asleep?

How can I help my preschooler fall asleep?

Start by having a great bedtime routine – choose two to four activities that you can do each night that move in the direction of the bedroom. Another trick is to save a favorite quiet time activity for the end of the routine so it’s the last thing he does before he gets into bed or before he goes to sleep. This will help him to look forward to getting through the rest of the routine so he can do his favorite activity at the end. Another thing to think about is whether or not your little one needs you in the bedroom when he falls asleep at bedtime. If he does, think about gradually helping him learn to fall asleep on his own after his consistent routine. Finally, consider playing a little game with your preschooler by showing how his favorite stuffed animal goes through the steps of the bedtime routine. This can be a lot of fun!
