How can I get her attached to a lovie?

To get a little one attached to a lovie, or transitional object, such as a blanket or a favorite toy, you can start associating the lovie with pleasant activities. For many little ones, those pleasant activities could be cuddling, feeding, or simply going through the bedtime routine. You might also give her the object if she becomes upset and you are comforting her as she also practices to soothe herself. Know, though, that there are many young children who function well and sleep soundly who never attach to a lovie. So, if your little one never attaches to a transitional object, that is not a problem at all.

Finally, to maximize safety in the crib, remember that it is important to wait until your little one is at least one year old to allow her to sleep with any blanket or stuffed toy.
