He has eczema. How do I help him stop scratching?
Eczema causes severely dry skin that can be very itchy. Babies with eczema can sometimes scratch a lot at night causing them to wake frequently during the night. First, be sure to talk to your pediatrician about the appropriate treatment for eczema. You can also try to use lotions that moisturize the skin, or other lotions as prescribed by your doctor depending on your little one’s age.
There are also special pajamas that keep hands covered to help prevent scratching during sleep.
