
In a study of Pennsylvania mothers during and after pregnancy, colic was examined in relation to maternal social support. Here, colic was defined as crying or fussing for 3 or more hours per day by the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine researchers. In this study, moms who had social support reported to have fussy babies less frequently than moms without social support.
