Children’s sleep weighs heavy on parents’ minds

Parents often think about their children’s sleep, and the way they think about their children’s sleep can be associated with several things. After an intervention study with Canadian families, researchers found that mothers’ depression symptoms were related to their own sleep quality, fatigue, and their thoughts about infant sleep such as doubts about sleep management, anger, and setting limits. Fathers’ depressive symptoms were also related to their own sleep quality and fatigue, as well as to their doubts about managing infant sleep and setting limits related to it.
